A Production Built on Initiative
What attracted Barbora to CALIBRATION was not simply the opportunity to work on another film. It was the determination behind the production itself.
The film's director, Serani Hunyi, has assembled an international team of female filmmakers and production professionals to bring an ambitious independent project to the screen.
For Barbora, there is something compelling about watching a creative idea move beyond discussion and into production.
"I find it incredibly inspiring when someone doesn't just dream about creating something, but actually goes for it, brings people together, and makes it a reality."
That spirit of initiative is also reflected in CALIBRATION's production culture.
The film is being made with women occupying the principal creative, technical and production positions, an approach that Barbora found particularly appealing.
She sees the significance of an all-female production not as an exercise in proving women's capabilities, but as an expression of their freedom to pursue ambitious work on their own terms.
"Not because we need to prove that women are capable, because of course we are, but simply because we can and we want to."
It is a distinction that speaks to the wider philosophy behind Serani Studio: creating opportunities through action, collaboration and shared professional ambition.
The Challenge of Making Every Moment Count
CALIBRATION presents a recognisable but unsettling vision of Prague in 2040. Its psychological tension is built through controlled performances, restrained dialogue and an environment in which seemingly ordinary details acquire an increasingly disturbing significance.
Producing that degree of precision within an independent film schedule requires discipline across every department.
Barbora is realistic about the challenge ahead.
"We have a pretty packed shooting schedule and a limited amount of time to make it all happen, which will definitely be a challenge, but an exciting one."
For her, the reward lies in seeing months of preparation finally become something tangible: people arriving on set, departments working together and individual contributions becoming part of a finished scene.
It is also an opportunity to participate in a production whose collaborative philosophy matters as much as its creative ambition.
Asked to describe the kind of film set she wants to be part of, Barbora's answer is straightforward:
"Everyone feels valued, no matter their role, where people support and inspire each other, and where we all share the joy of creating something together."
As CALIBRATION moves towards principal photography, Barbora represents an important part of the production's identity: professionals bringing experience from different industries into filmmaking, united by the decision to pursue work they believe in.
"I'm really looking forward to sharing this experience with everyone and hopefully creating a film that touches people and makes them feel some of the love and passion that went into making it."
For someone who once regarded the film industry as a distant dream, being part of the team bringing CALIBRATION to life marks a particularly meaningful next chapter.

Barbora Hlôšková: From Product Management to Film Production, Following a Passion That Never Disappeared
Behind every carefully constructed scene lies an intricate network of decisions, logistics and people. As CALIBRATION prepares for principal photography in Prague, Production Assistant and Second Assistant Director Barbora Hlôšková brings an unusual combination of business experience, organisational discipline and a lifelong passion for cinema to the production.
Filmmaking is an exercise in controlled unpredictability. Months of preparation can culminate in just a few seconds on screen, and even the most meticulously planned shooting schedule will inevitably face changes, unexpected obstacles and decisions that must be made under pressure.
For Barbora Hlôšková, joining the production team of CALIBRATION means stepping into precisely this environment, where creative ambition must coexist with practical execution, and where the ability to anticipate problems is often as important as knowing how to solve them.
Her background in marketing, product development and management provides a valuable foundation for the demands of independent filmmaking. Coordinating people, managing competing priorities and translating complex ideas into workable plans are skills she has developed throughout her professional career.
But her connection to cinema began long before her professional career.
Growing up in a small town, Barbora loved film and visual storytelling, although the prospect of working in the industry seemed remote. As her career progressed in other directions, that early ambition remained.
"At some point, I realized how precious it is to have something you feel passionate about, and I didn't want it to remain just a dream."
When she eventually stepped onto a film set for the first time, the experience confirmed that she had made the right decision.
"Something just clicked. I felt alive in a way I hadn't felt in a long time, almost like a part of me had suddenly woken up again."
Now, as Production Assistant and Second Assistant Director on Serani Hunyi's psychological dystopian drama CALIBRATION, Barbora is bringing together two sides of her professional identity: the structured thinking of a business professional and the creative instinct of someone who has always wanted to make films.
The Invisible Architecture of Filmmaking
A scene lasting only a few seconds can require months of preparation, dozens of people and the precise coordination of multiple departments. What appears effortless on screen is frequently the result of extensive planning, constant communication and countless adjustments behind the camera.
For Barbora, this complexity is part of filmmaking's appeal.
She compares a film production to a beehive, where every individual has a particular responsibility and the success of the collective depends on how effectively those responsibilities come together.
"Everyone has their own role to play, and no matter how big or small that role might seem, every contribution matters."
Her professional background provides a practical foundation for the demands of independent production.
Product management and filmmaking may appear to have little in common, but both require the ability to manage competing priorities, coordinate people, translate ideas into executable plans and adapt when circumstances change.
Preparation, she believes, is essential. So is recognising that even the most carefully constructed plan will often need to change.
"When something unexpected happens, it's important to stay calm and focus on finding solutions rather than dwelling on the problem. Sometimes, when things don't go according to plan, they can lead to something even better than you could ever have imagined."
That's why she believes it's so important to stay open to the unexpected and see challenges as
opportunities rather than just obstacles.
For CALIBRATION, with its tightly structured shooting schedule, multiple Prague locations, and carefully controlled visual environment, those qualities will be particularly valuable.

The cast and crew of CALIBRATION will be outdoors on location in Prague, with Barbora assisting with actors on set.
