DECATHLON CZECH REPUBLIC JOINS CALIBRATION AS OFFICIAL PARTNER
Helping to build the world of the film.
PARTNERSHIPSWORLD-BUILDING
10/6/2026

Serani Studio is delighted to announce Decathlon Czech Republic as an official partner of CALIBRATION, the psychological drama currently in pre-production in Prague.
The partnership will see Decathlon provide product support, wardrobe, and unit gear for the production, helping equip the world of CALIBRATION as the film transforms present-day Prague into a subtly altered version of the city in 2040.
For director Serani Hunyi, the collaboration is particularly fitting.
CALIBRATION is deliberately avoiding the polished visual look traditionally associated with science fiction. Its future is recognisable: people still walk the same streets, live in apartments, commute to work, and carry the things they need to get through their day. But this is a society accustomed to being prepared for anything.
That makes the everyday objects within the frame important.
In the world of CALIBRATION, citizens move through a highly controlled, security-conscious Prague, where preparedness has become part of ordinary life. Bags, practical clothing, and outdoor equipment aren’t futuristic props. They are the familiar objects of today, given a different meaning by tomorrow.
Decathlon enters the film’s world naturally.
FROM A SUMMER JOB TO THE CEO’S OFFICE
Behind Decathlon Czech Republic is also a story of female leadership and progression — a natural fit for the all-female crew behind CALIBRATION.
CEO Anna Szymanek joined Decathlon in Poland as a young summer employee with a wonderfully modest objective: she wanted to earn enough money to buy herself a guitar.
She bought the guitar and never left Decathlon.
Over the years, Szymanek progressed from the shop floor through a succession of roles within the company before taking the opportunity to lead Decathlon Czech Republic — becoming CEO after approximately fifteen years with the business.
Today, she leads one of Decathlon’s significant Central European operations, but her public comments about leadership remain strikingly focused on people rather than hierarchy.
Szymanek has spoken about deliberately recruiting people who are stronger than she is in their respective fields — and then creating the conditions in which they have the autonomy and responsibility to do their best work.
It’s a philosophy that resonates strongly with the way CALIBRATION is being built.
The film brings together an international cast and all-female crew in Prague, combining experienced film professionals, emerging talent, students, designers, and commercial partners around one independent production.
BUILDING 2040 TOGETHER
For CALIBRATION, brand partnerships are not being approached as conventional product placement. Every partner has to belong inside the world.
Decathlon’s contribution will become part of the physical texture of Prague 2040 — functional objects carried, worn, and used by people living inside this society rather than products artificially placed in front of a camera.
That distinction matters.
The future in CALIBRATION isn’t arriving in spaceships. It’s being built quietly from things that already exist.
And some of those things will come from Decathlon.
Serani Hunyi, Director of CALIBRATION, says:
“Anna’s story immediately caught my attention. She started on the shop floor and worked her way through the company until she was running it. But what interested me even more was her philosophy once she got there: hire talented people, trust them, and give them room to do what they do best.
That is exactly how I’ve been building this film.
Decathlon also makes complete sense inside the world we’re creating. Prague in 2040 is not a fantasy city. It’s our city after fourteen more years of social and technological change. The objects people carry have evolved in meaning rather than becoming unrecognisable.
We are enormously grateful to Anna and the Decathlon Czech Republic team for choosing to support an independent film and helping us build that world.”
CALIBRATION explores trauma, autonomy, grief, and the increasingly uncomfortable question of how far we will go to free ourselves from emotional pain.
The film will shoot in Prague throughout November 2026.
